Blinds in Crazy Pineapple Poker
Blinds, basically a type of “forced bets” are also a part of the game play of the Crazy Pineapple poker. There are two types of blinds called small blind and big blind. The player sitting on the left side of the dealer puts in the small blind while the player sitting on the left side of this player (with small blind) further adds the big blind to the pot. These two blinds are paid before the commencement of the dealing of the cards. The big blind is usually double the amount of the small blind, for example if the small blind is of £2 then big blind will be of £4.
Game Setup of the Crazy Pineapple Poker
The setup of this game is quite simple as the players simply need to sit around the table to start the game. After settling down, players select a dealer by mutual consent. Crazy Pineapple poker is played with “Rotating Dealer” which means every player gets a chance to be a dealer. The person sitting on the left side of the dealer resumes the position of the next dealer. The dealer’s seat is marked by placing a dealer button. In online version of Crazy Pineapple poker, the house plays the role of a dealer and there is no rotation.
Once a decision is reached about the selection of the dealer, it is time to put out the blinds. Once the blinds are in the pot, three face-down cards known as “Hole cards” are dealt to each player by the dealer.
Betting Rounds
Preflop Round
This round allows the player to decide whether they want to fold, call or raise the bet. The raise is always in the form of one bet plus the amount of previous bet.
After all the hole cards have been dealt, the first player sitting on the left side of the player with big blind starts the betting. There are three options available which include
Call: This involves betting with the same amount as that of the big blind.
Raise: This involves increasing the bet to a higher amount.
Fold: This involves laying down the cards.
Each player goes through the same betting motions in a clockwise direction starting from the player with the big blind. Once all the players have called their last bets, the first betting round gets over. On completion of the first betting round, the dealer mucks the top card of the deck and then deals three face-up side cards to each player.
The Flop
On completion of Preflop, the other round called “The Flop” commences. The first one of the remaining players sitting on the left side of dealer starts the betting with two options of either check or bet. Once an option is picked, the player needs to discard one of the three hold cards.
Now the next player has the choice to fold, check, raise or call. This round ends when all bets/raises have been called out and all the players have discarded one of their hole cards.
The Turn
On completion of the bet in the flop, dealer then deals fourth community card. Betting starts again. The betting goes on just like the previous round except that now players are not required to muck their hole cards.
The River
If there is still more than one player left in the game, the River is dealt by the dealer. It again involves the dealer dealing the final community card. This is the final dealing round and no other cards are dealt after it. The betting again resumes between the players.
Showdown of Crazy Pineapple Poker
After the player has recently raised the bet or has checked out, the first player sitting on the left side of the dealer puts his cards face up on the table. The remaining players can now fold down their cards if their hand is weaker than the one on the deck. The winner is declared on the basis of the best combination of the five cards.
So a winner is declared by comparing the hands of the players and evaluating them by the ranking order. The hand strength in the descending rank order is listed as
- Royal Flush
- Straight Flush
- Four of a Kind
- Full House
- Flush
- Straight
- Three of a Kind
